Used for priming a muzzleloading fintlock or percussion rifle, the primer is handmade from a section of whitetail deer antler with hickory and cedar wood ends and cap. The spout and spout plug are carved from deer antler as well. It delivers a small amount of fine (ffff) black gun powder to the flash pan of a flintlock or the nipple of a percussion rifle.
The antler was hollowed out and the wooden ends were carved and sanded to match the shape of the antler. The plug on both the loading end and pouring in have a thin coating of beeswax to help seal them in place.
Overall length of the primer is 7″.
